Just bought a new laptop from Circuit City, got an Acer Aspire 5100, also got a free Epson Photo Printer and a free D-Link wireless router(after rebates) all of it for $570. I think thats pretty decent. Now I gotta learn this new Windows...

Anyone know any tips and tricks to make it run smoother without all sorts of extra crap dragging it down?

Here's the link to the setup we got, not too shabby for a 2nd computer I think.

I hate vista. I'm thinking about putting XP on my new comp until a bunch of updates for vista come out.

I think that's an oxymoron. Vista IS just a bunch of extra crap bogging things down. Go by a version of XP until vista is a usable operating system about a year from now.
