Keep in mind that this is one of two built this way with auto trans and twin superchargers as the other 314 were manual, and only one to still exist as well as Caroll's own personal car. This car was taken with him to Africa where he lived for ten years and to go safari after he got pissed about the demise of the muscle era in 1971. Alot of said rumor and legend about the car went around for years of it's actual existence until just a few years ago, when a individual who knew the person that started to restored it in 1981 after Caroll returned to the U.S. from Africa confirmed it's existence. Cosby kept his car a very short time because it was too much for him, and the individual to whom he sold it to lost control of it, went over a cliff on a winding mountain road, destroying the car, and killing himself in the process. Also keep in mind that the people bidding on this car have extreemly deep pockets and they wanted this car which drove the price up to where it ended. But I do agree with you that is ALOT of money for any car!!:wooo
