Softball VI (Is Friday Nights)

For those of you sick of seeing my softball threads I am sorry hopefully this will be the last post for a while.

Greenfiled parks department accepted my application for softball for Friday nights. If you are not on the list please reply to this thread so I can add you. I have removed the names of people that only wanted to play thursday night but if you change your mind please let me know so I can add you back on the list.

Also please pm me your phone number if you are serious about playing so I have it for future reference.

Korndogg has volunteered to help me out in getting this team going. And we will be checking into getting a sponsor. So it will be free to play ball.

Yes Friday is a sure thing. They didnt have any openings on Thursday for the team so they gave us our second choice. You going to play it will be fun, its close to you and it would only take a couple hours of your time. :thumbsup

Our sponsor is going to be Rookies. They are on Howell and Howard. Like I said before me and scott just have to go in and talk to the owner to get everything settled and were good to go.

According to the sheet I have right now it starts April 27th thru Aug 4. I have a managers meeting on Thursday March 22 at 6:30 pm to get the information on the scedule.

I know I hate playing for a bar myself, but It is a pretty for sure thing about them sponcering us. Its either that or everyone needs to pay $26 a person plus cost of shirts.

Well not everyone responded to the poll so I doubt that people would like to play. I also talked with some people that I know and they say Konkel Charges $255 for just sign up and then there is an additional players fee which I think is 12. So with the cost and stuff I think I am going to find a bar to sponsor us but I am going to see if I can find one that is close to the ball park so that way we dont need to drive very far for drinks. That way it wont be a really big deal for people to stop for a beer.

you said its one 54th and Coldspring right? Theres The Gas Light West on 84th and Coldspring? Aside from that I don't know what's around there. There's also Sullys on Beloit/108th. Like I said, I don't care either way..

There are a bunch of places that we could go. The place is on 54th and Layton so I am thinking some place with in a 10 block radius for a sponsor. That way it will take us a minute to get there have a drink after the game and go if you dont feel like staying that way it counts as an appearance and it wont take too much time out of someones night.

Merry's is a straight shot down 51st, off Howard. They sponsored my team the last few years at Konkol, the owner is really nice and paid our full team fee (minus the player fee of course). Kind of a hole in the wall, but its close.
