View Full Version : Wrapping my bike for the trip to Daytona

Ryan suggested I use ceran wrap to wrap the bike, and I thought maybe some blue painters tape to protect the bike from debris / road dirt. If you have ever drivin through chicago, you know what I mean.

Anyone have any suggestions? I am trying to avoid wrapping a tarp around the bike, don't want to have to worry about it blowing off when we are ripping down the interstate at 80.

You think a few layers of ceran wrap would do it? And if so, any idea where I can get a big roll of it? I am leaving tomorrow night around midnight, so the faster you post the better :thumbsup Thanks guys

Use a roll of stretch wrap. The kind used to wrap pallets. If you want to drive to Belgium I could give you some. Otherwise maybe someone in your area works for a warehouse and they can give yoy some.

I agree, perfect solution.

Well, stretch wrap is what I want to find then. I used that when I worked for Metal Cut, but they are super stingy there. Maybe home depot has it? Where is belgium? I think that might be too far for me to drive tomorrow, I guess I shouldn't have waited till last minute to think of this. DOH!

at 30 dollars a day, for 15 days? I'm way too cheap for that.

Belgium is about 30 min N of Milwaukee on I-43. I also works nights(working now if you call this work). If you want to take a road trip up here tonight, I could give you a box of it. Has four rolls in box. Otherwise the stuff at office max would work for you. Or I could give you one of the big rolls that go on our pallet wrappers. This way you could wrap your bike, truck, friends cars and whatever else you feel like wrapping. They are pretty big rolls.

Don't use tape, it likes to pull paint off!

Have an address? I looked it up on the office max website and it isnt cheap on there, how much for a roll of it from you? The cheaper the better, I'm unemployed as it is :rolf Sure do appreciate the help, its about an hour and a half from west allis to belgium and back but if its cheap, its worth it.

Painters tape

Get the GREEN painters tape, that's what everyone in the VW world uses because of VW's shitty thin paint.

The green won't leave a residue at all :) Plus, if anything you'll be a bit more visable.

Plus you can do the green and then write stuff all over it :goof

All it would cost you is your gas to drive up here. If you want to come and get it, I will get it ready for you. Like I said, I work nights and I will be here until 3:00 am. PM me and I will give you my work number!

Thanks for the call, I'll be there in 45 minutes or so

Edit*: Josh, you are the man! Thanks a ton man, I didn't open the box yet but from the looks of what it says on the outside it is exactly what I needed. I'll be sure to post a photo of the bike all wrapped up along with other photos from my trip. Hopefully I don't forget anything!

Clothes, Bathroom stuff, camera supplies, jacket, both helmets, moneys, gloves, metric alans, I should be set!

Bìtch Be Cool Stick :D
You might need it for the hate you might encounter showing up at a 95% Harley event with a crotcher.
Yea most of them are cool, but you'll always have the drunk guy with anger mgmt. issues.

95% Harley event? Apparently you have never been there, eh? The first weekend is all super bike races at the track. Harley's aren't allowed to race unless they have street sweepers following them :thumbsup And a crotch rocket and a super bike are two totally different bikes, thankfully I have myself a super bike :durr

I used to be big into the sport bikes. I sold mine when we had my son. Now I want a harley or a harley type bike. I used to hate them though.

I like the victorys and the VTX hondas or even the yamaha roadstar. Sweet bikes.

Ride before you buy!!!!

My old man has a VTX 1300, and it is SUCH a pooch it is pathetic. The 1800, on the other hand, is a force to be reckoned with!

i wouldnt consider a chevy venture a workhorse flick. besides, save the chevy. you will need it to tow the ford back home.

chevy for the mother fuggin win. in all honesty, ford guys can have their fords. when it comes to trucks, many people are brand loyal. but i just downright love my truck, everythin about it. only thing id like to change about it is to have lumbar support, which is one of the few options my truck doesnt have....
