The head bolts I have now are ARP just wondering wich will hold torque better studs or bolts?

Also isn't there suppose to be dowl pins to locate the head on the block? wehn I got the head off today I got down to the last bolt and it pretty much slid off...

all the engine's I've torn down all had dowel pins on the block(I hate taking those out), I'm no expert but as far as I know studs are stronger

Studs are stronger and yes, dowel pins are usually supposed to be there...at least from my experience.

If you didnt find the dowel, start looking.

Head studs are stronger in every way in contrast to head bolts.

I don't think any where in there. The head just slid off when I got the last bolt out..:stare
