No real big surprise here but it should be interesting, that is if you subscribe to satellite like I do

Well, one would hope this turns out to only be a good thing. I don't want prices to go up though. Also, I hope that the new thing doesn't start playing commercials like XM has had in some of their stations. I will drop my subscription in short order if I have to listen to ****ing commercials for one second.

I'm gunna be interested in what they're going to for all the stations after the merge, my mom's car's got sirius and at work we've got XM. I like sirius more because they've got 3 classic rocks stations compared to 1 on XM

On the other hand, if they can use all 5 of the satellites and make use of all of XM's ground repeaters, it could serve to only make signals better. Granted right now I can drive through the airport tunnel and not lose sirius signal, so how much better could it get ?

Dopie and Aintfunny won't last long I would guess, but they have a contract and Mel will have them stay unless they do something against the terms of that contract. Mel and Howard are on the same page on this and it is through Howard that Sirius is even capable of purchasing XM, something a year and half/two years ago was nowhere near possible. Keep in mind that they (O&A) only pulled around 30000-50000 listeners into XM compared to the millions that Stern brought.

Wackbag.com (the O&A forum) is full of people about ready to jump off a bridge, it is a good read.

This still has regulatory hurdles to jump through though.
