I got curious after reading the thread John started about his car and wanted to know how long you have actually owned the same car...

Mine turns 8 years old in 2 days and I remember like yesterday the day I picked it up. I practically melted the tires down before I even left the dealership. Other than this car, the longest I have owned a car was 3 years.

3 years for the STi in June. That would be the longest I have retained ONE specific vehicle. I am typically lucky to make it to 1 year with a car for some reason.

Oh yeah, that would be 3 years IF it makes it to June.....I am desiring something new.

Hard to believe the LS1 is a decade old, and the design stage started 17 years ago.

I've had the 82 TA for 4 years; my sister bought it in the mid 90s.

I had an explorer for 3 years, and won a few SQ competition with it while hitting 154 db with 2 ported 15" Diamond M6's, HEX 3 way components and too much power :goof

I don't think any of you guys ever saw my green explorer.

It was sweet but for the fact that it had 130k on it and got 15 MPG without the 400 lb box in the back. I had to fill up twice if I went to shows in the Dells :rolf :rolf

I had My old 91 escort gt for two years......Unless you count the rebuild stage on my 93 vert, then that wins with 4 years (only on the road for one year)

I have had the 88 for 1 year and 3 weeks now

Damn, I have a hard time trying to keep any of my cars for more than a year! I think my 98' GSX was the longest I've owned any of my cars being 2 years.

23 years already!

I've owned my '68 Mustang since July of '84.

I bought it back when it was still just a "used car", and not really an investment.

Wow. Looks like most everybody changes vehicles every 4 years or so. Guess that makes me outside the norm...

2000 S-10 4WD = 7 years
1995 Thunderchicken = 11 years (son drives it now)
1990 Cav Z24 = 16 years
1983 Camaro Z28HO = 5 years
2004 Pontiac Vibe = 3 years

-And they're all driven almost daily (except for the Z28)!

I had my 97 cobra for just about 2 yrs. I was t-boned by a truck totaled it.

most other cars have been less than a year... I tend to stick money in them then let someone buy them from me at a good deal.. Guess I like to loose money...

The longest I've had a specific vehicle would be my 94 Z28 which I had for a little over 4 years, other than that I buy a new car about every 2 years or so:goof But this won't be the case anymore, I just got my Trans AM last August and I got my GTP this January and now this means I won't be getting a new vehicle for atleast 4 years or so. I have to stop car hopping it tends to get very expensive.:chair:

But I love a variety!!:headbang
