My question is why doesn't he just sell it and pay for the job....

Cause it's a f'in mess and it'll cost more than $15k to have a contractor do it....lol.

His better option would be to sell it to pay for the roof though. How are you supposed to pay your helpers? Break off some pieces of the car and give it to them? You sure as shit arent doing that roof by yourself.

And who the hell puts asphalt shingles OVER cedar shake shingles?

The more I read it the funnier it gets. That guy is pretty demanding...lol.

The guy who did my roof only works by himself, and it took him the same amount of time as 4 workers on the same roof next door.....

I would rather do a flat roof over shingles. It is easier on the back.

It would be pretty close to 15k when all said in done from just looking at the picture. But would have to measure everything.

THAT'S A LOT OF WORK FOR 15K! Maybe if he bought materials, that thing would need to be redecked also if it is cedar.

Thats the minimum too...lol. Who's to say that thing hasn't had leaks over 100 years that roted away trusses and other parts. He said he wants it done right...and right would be to replace everything thats damaged.

Theres a reason why he wants somebody to do it on the side. Otherwise he'd sell the car and pay a contractor.
