my daughter typed a paper in word and she forgot to hit save. i looked for it in ducuments but it was not there. i also looked to see if there was a last worked project but there was none. can i get it for here or is it lost ?

it should have autosaved somewhere, but if she didnt attempt to save it, i dont know if it auto deletes all temp files regarding that document.

so you might be screwed. I would have her retype it.

If it's windows XP, you can check the C:\Documents and Settings\(usersname)\Local Settings\Temp directory to see if it was saved in there. Usually it will be a .tmp file. You can try opening them all back up in word. There could be other formats in there as well like excel temp files and everything else, but it's worth a shot.

You son can tune a 800+ HP car with your Bigstuff3 program and he can't help save a word document?! lol

PS- I do feel bad that she actually put so much effort into school work (which is rare these days..) and lost her stuff. :(

what version of word?

It should be recoverable... it does an autosave you just have to find it the temp file like animal said.

As long as autosave is turned on :D It's on by default in most versions of word though, so
