I don't think it was the pilots fault. Did you see how bad to sea was surgeing? That thing was near weightless and then the ship surged down. Leaving that chopper to go where ever it wanted. I think he did a good job of keeping it out of the drink.

If you've ever seen some of the chopper accidents on rotten.com, you realize how horrible a way to die that is. lucky bastard for sure.

I agree. That boat was movin!! Those were some huge swells.

There was three helo accidents (2 on active runways and at mid-field) while I was stationed Marine Corps Air Station New River as an Air Traffic Controller(read front row seat). BTW, I've seen worse ways to die.

Oh wait, maybe you were talking about West Coast Choppers!?!:D
