I doubt it. Do you have any idea how big Subaru actually is? Subaru is just one of FHI's (Fuji Heavy Industries) brands. The Subaru name contains also industrial products, aerospace parts etc etc etc......I doubt Toyota will purchase the company. Maybe I'm wrong but I just don't see that happening. FHI is a very powerful company in Japan and I don't think they'd let a profitable sector of their business (Subaru autos) go. Why would they?

I had read that Saab (ultimately GM) wanted to develop a platform to use but ended up teaming with Subaru for the 9-2X project as R&D would have cost a sh1t load more than GM wanted to spend to develop something somewhat similar. That 9-2X project isn't going as well as GM had hoped as Subaru still gets a chunk of the profits of each unit sold as its using 100% Subaru chassis and drivetrain. GM would have had to sell a ton of them to really make the venture worthwhile but the pricepoint of the 9-2X doesn't make it a "bargain" unless you really want to say you own a Saab over a Subaru. You can buy a WRX wagon with the same options (including the leather now) for almost $4000 less.

Those 9-2X's are sweet looking though.

yes they are and they accept all the subaru performance parts including reflash tuning softwares, brake parts, suspension pieces, turbos etc etc.....a sleeper 9-2x could be a sweet daily driver :)

Well, atleast you would be able to have a saab and know it's a reliable car. a buddy of mine had an 03 subaru legacy. 5,000 RPM clutch dumps and it took it everytime.

Not to get off topic here, but ireally do like the way those SAABARU's look!

I think Saab really made something of a sexy SUV out the pretty blah trailblazer too with the 9-7x IMHO
