well, I had the opportunity to test drive a 2006 Regency RST today. It was one of those white ones with orange stripes. 5 speed manual. I got to put on about 50 miles. Man was that thing a blast. It just effin rips. Leaves rubber like second nature. It was actually kinda difficult to NOT leave rubber. Off a stop, if you let the clutch out normally and accelerate normally, then punch it, it just breaks loose and starts walkin sideways. Its a sick truck. Stupid fast for what it is. I was quite impressed with the conversion package. Orange cloth inserts in the black leather, RST embroidered on the headrests. Nice details under the hood. Header back exhaust. Sounded BADASS!!!!! If I could afford to buy that as a weekend cruiser and keep my 06 4x4, id do it in a heartbeat. If anyone has the opportunity to drive one of these, DO IT! You won't be dissapointed. Those of you unfamiliar with what these trucks are, behold:

the truck is delivered exactly as you see it pictured. Sticker is $36,000 but if you are lucky enough to find a leftover 06 on a dealer lot, they are offering upwards of $5k in rebates.

4.8 liter with some aftermarket wires, cold air intake, ceramic coated headers with custom exhaust. Produces about 300 +/- at the wheels. Mix that with a 5 speed manual and an extremely light pickup and you got yourself a wild ride.

mid 15's, maybe 14's stock. Its not that bad for what it is. Im sure its easy to mod. Maybe supercharge? :D

Man ya gotta see it in person. Hearing it in person is damn near creaming the pants. If you like V8's whatsoever, the sound of this truck is so incredible. I absolutely love it. If the truck wasn't so useless as far as hauling stuff....etc, id buy it, but its strictly a cruisin truck. I can't justify spending that much on it if it isnt my daily driver. Unless I had dispensable income at that magnatude. Like I said, if I could afford my 2006 4x4 and that, I'd sign in a heartbeat.

that would be t3h 53x w/ a 6 liter swap, mild cam and ported 243 heads or better.

That was me. It is a fun truck, but unless you stay out of the pedal, you get shit for mileage! It does spin the tires easily though. Man those tires are gonna be expensive to replace! Definately worth the money, but don't buy new. :thumbsup

No but i did one 04' GMC RST for a guy with a balls to the walls tune up and that thing went like a raped ape!

Everything spins the tires alot right now on cold salty roads. This one did it in the middle of summer just rolling into it in 1st and if you ripped 2nd hard enough, it stayed sideways for a good 20 feet lol

I just dont like that 1st is such a granny gear though, always end up having to take off in 2nd. If one could swap a T56 6 speed in, that would have the perfect gear ratios and it would be even quicker i feel.

yeah definitely. that 1st gear had a lot of effin torque. Just off a rollin start lettin the clutch out nicely, just layin into the throttle made the truck wanna spin a 180. its a very very nice lookin truck though. I like the orange gauges. Do they make a cluster like that for my silverado?
