I went down to the jobsite.......Walked outside 100 yards .....Went back to the car.....Drove to the job trailer and told my boss I was going home.

I have all the cold weather gear, but its too nasty out.

I hate to lose the days pay, but my health is more important.

I called in "too fvucking cold to work" today.

I think korndogg went in. We'll see how long before he's back home posting here...lol. He was working in the basement which is semi-heated and enclosed though.

Tomorrow looks pretty bad too. Little higher temp but higher winds.

Tom...

i'm thinking battery. Reason being is that all these GM batteries suck. When it's cold out like this, it sucks the juice from the battery to a point in which the car can't start. We had this on all the Malibu's at the dealership. It gets to a point that it's drained so bad that the only way to get the car to start again, is to charge it and hook it up to the tech2 to reset the computer. Not exactly 100% sure on what exactly is done, but I remember having to push a couple of the cars into the service bay in order for them to fix the issue. It wasn't just a simple recharge issue

BAD LS1
02-05-2007, 08:39 AM
I will stick the charger on it when i get home. It started and ran right away... If a plate goes in the batt the car wont see the amps from the alt going and coming out of the batt. The alt could be working but its not making its way to the neg side of the batt and completing the circuit for the BCM to regconize it as it being charged.

Oh well... i dont wannt be the asshole thats gotta puta battery in it! its burried!

I'm at work.....our plumbing isn't working. Everything at home was AOK however this morning. The wagon was PISSED OFF when I went to start it. My reflash on the car is not happy however. I'm getting like 12 miles to the gallon in this cold @ss weather. You could hang a bucket on the tailpipe and catch the raw fuel :(

Back where I went to school in Iowa they never cancelled classes due to the cold and the same goes for today, just a 2 hour delay and that is only to get all the buses started.

But then again we were all farm kids for the most part and were expected to deal with this weather.

We cancelled all outside jobs for today leaving those installers working in the racine store - allowing me to work the Franklin store alone since its usually closed on Mondays. Usually spend my Mondays with the owner working on projects & stuff in racine so this is a nice break. Since Im here alone- gonna crank up that T-stat and play some music loud. :banana :banana

Went out a little after 5am to warm up the car. I was surprised. It started, a little slow, but no problems. Has a 3 yr old napa battery. About 5 mins after coming back inside I get a call to not come in today due to the weather. :headbang I went back to bed for a couple more hours. Wish I can have a snooze time like that everyday!

-17° at the house this morning. Coldest I've ever seen.

The jeep started...only becuase I just got a new battery on friday. The old one had a tough enough time with 15 degree weather, let alone this stuff. But it's only at times like these that I'm glad I didn't get a turbodiesel.

I'm at work even though school's cancelled.

Took my dog and my gf's dog for a 3 mile run this morning too...I look silly running in snow pants and ski mask with my ski gogles on,I'm sure, but the dogs love it.

11yrs ago when it was like -25º (actual temp) I was out shoveling/snowblowing.
It was snowing good, and as it melted on my eyelashes & eyebrows, it re-froze and formed ice balls there, only was able to blow my nose after warming up in the truck and the snot would unfreeze.
That was a fun night.

Get to work ladies :)
