There errors come up when I shut down the computer. I think they only come up when I use Adobe, but I'm not positive. I'll contact them soon, but I'll see if anyone has a quick answer here first.

It's acrobat reader. Looks like one of the acrobat reader processes is taking to long to shut down or is hung up and can't close properly. Dwwin.exe is an error reporting tool that tries to start when the acrobat reader flakes out, but it can't because the computer is in the process of shutting down. I would try uninstalling and reinstalling acrobat reader. There is a background process for acrobat reader that acrord32.exe or something like that, if you hit ctrl+alt+del and look at the task manager you can kill it before shutting down and it should prevent the message too, but doesn't really fix the problem.

(Most likely you're using an old version of Acrobat/Reader)

Issue

When you shut down Windows, you see the error message, "The instruction at 'xxxxxxxxx' referenced memory at 'xxxxxxxxxxx.' The memory could not be 'read.'"

Detail

You see this error message when you shut down Windows after you open a PDF in your web browser.

Solution

Install the Acrobat 7.0.5 update or the Adobe Reader 7.0.5 update.

In Acrobat or Adobe Reader, choose Help > Check For Updates Now to install the update.

Alternately, you can download the update from the Adobe website:

-- For Adobe Reader or Acrobat 7.x: Download the 7.0.5 update from the Adobe website at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/

Yea it is harmless really, just annoying.
You can also delete the 'Adobe Reader Speed Launch' if it's in your startup menu, it doesn't need to be running at startup (like 99% of the junk in there).

I called Adobe tech support, and after waiting 20 minutes I'm told "We can troubleshoot this problem for 39.99"

Their tech number is (800)-642-3623

Here are other people with a similar error.

I forgot if I reinstalled it earlier, but I'll try again. I just installed Adobe 8, so hopefully it's fixed.
