Just a heads up...

Since 1966, most of the United States has observed Daylight Saving Time from at 2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday of April to 2:00 a.m. on the last Sunday of October. Beginning in 2007, most of the U.S. will begin Daylight Saving Time at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and revert to standard time on the first Sunday in November. In the U.S., each time zone switches at a different time.

2006
DST Begins at 2am on April 2nd
DST Ends at 2am on Oct 29th

2007
DST Begins at 2am on March 11th
DST Ends at 2am on Nov 4th

Its almost like Y2k all over again...

1 more hour of daylight in the evening.

In August of 2005 the United States Congress passed the Energy Policy Act, which changes the dates of both the start and end of daylight saving time (DST).

That changed it based statistically on when people have their lights on at home. It appears that habits as a whole have changed from household to household, and this is merely a correction to take that into account.

I think daylight savings and timezones in general are unneeded bullshit. I applaud places like arizona that simply said "**** you, we're not doing daylight savings" .

They had that plan made up 2 years ago, was supposed to start in 06' but didn't. Yes, people whine about it being dark when they come home before 5pm.

You want messed up DLS time, check out Indiana.

One of the things that addes to it is business and facilities maintenance. With the change allows less light on that are needed (outside timers), more energy efficient buildings (Heating less because the sunlight will increase the readiant heat within a space, Cooling less because during the summer hours there is less build up through out the day of heat from items being on.).

Just some added thought to be more energy efficient.

I've heard that Arizona is not as affected by the time change.

I don't mind daylight savings time, however, if anything about it is going to be changed, it needs to be near permanent, such as the course of a lifetime.

"Willett's 1907 proposal argued that DST increases opportunities for outdoor leisure activities during afternoon sunlight hours. As a builder, he also wanted workers to arrive at construction sites earlier in summer mornings. Similar motivations remain to this day."
