On the Grand Prix that I just picked up there is a rust spot on the underside of the hood, it almost looks like it would be a manufacture defect of some type. There is no dent or any damage where it is, its right at the lip on the underside of the hood. The color of the car hides it very well and I never noticed it before until now. Would I contact any GM dealership about this? I've never delt with something like this before and I'm not sure on what to do.:confused

Most of the time, corrosion warranties are completely void if the car is purchased in a state that uses salt on the roads. Odds of it being covered are slim to none unless it was a manufacturers defect.

it won't be covered. Take it to a body shop or contact Keith on here about having it touched up

I love it when people say to me "I have a 'corrosion' warranty," --- I usually reply with "really...!!!"

Funny, my GP had this too. Is it right where the latch is for the hood Nick? If so, mine never spread the entire time I had the car.

Nah, its not by the hood latch, its on the driver side of the hood. Its right at the lip where the hood starts to curve down to the nose of the car. Its right where the two pieces of sheet metal come togther to have the top of the hood and the underside of it. I can see its right where they are connected, I went and looked at it on my lunch earlier again and its not bad now but I don't want to know what it will look like down the road if it dosen't get treated. I've seen too many vehicles that have that fuking rust hole right on the front lip of the hood and it ain't pretty.:durr

I have the same thing right at the lip of the hood about 6 inches to the right of the arrowhead.
