Yes I know it was made in 97' but I just watched it last night. This movie totally kicked ass. Very powerful movie that gave me chills

Also if you liked this movie you should see " The Hurricane " with denzel Washington.

This movie I had a tear or to :stare :rolf very powerful and based on a True Story <------ thats what makes you choke up if you see it.

old news! both were instant classics and some stations play a 24 hr run of shawshank redemption. I cant believe this is the first time you have ever seen it.

Shawshank has my vote.....love the movie, must of watched it 10 times...no lie i liked it that much....to see what they went threw back then and in those conditions...the whole movie kept your attenion all the way to the end....very well written and done movie...2 thumbs up

Great movie, Green Mile was also set back in that time. Another old prison move was Life, though its a comedy with Eddie Murphy.

Shawshank is in my top ten also. If it is on television I usually watch it. My wife never saw it but when she did she loved it!
