Accident this morning was my Brother....

I don't know if any of you saw the news this morning about the accident on 43 northbound but that was my brother in law. He was hit by a drunk driver on his way home from work around 2 am. He has 4 broken ribs, broken coller bone, a punctured lung, punctured liver and spleen. He is still in rough shape, and the docters said he is still in a lot of danger. Tomorrow hopefully things will get better. It turns out that the 22 year old kid was drunk and also on drugs and to top it off he doesnt have insurance. My brothers insurance is gonna take care of it, but if anyone knows an agressive lawyer my sister could use some help.

Was that just by good hope like last may? I was coming home from hwy one night on 45N and came up on an accident where a car load of dumb brawds from pewaukee were drunk in a 01+ Civic, got on 45 from good hope going the wrong way and plowed into late model subaru forester in the fast lane clear over at the concrete barrier. Having to drive past that no less than 10 feet away from the back of the civic with the roof cut off and the pass front plowed to the fire wall and the yellow sheets over the pass side of the forester really messed me up... of course everyone in theh civic were treated and realeased that night...

i think it's like the 4th or 5th wrong way driver in a cuople of weeks.its so sad that the drunk driver lives through it and the other person usually dies but your brother was lucky and survived.hope he gets better

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Things were looking better yesterday afternoon and they moved him out of ICU for a few hours, but then he started bleeding internally again and his stomach was filling with fluid. He was rushed back for immedeate surgery and I have not heard anything since then. I went and looked at the cars yesterday and got pictures. Once i saw Jim's car i almost threw up, I honestly can't believe he is alive. My brothers' car is the silver one.....

My former boss was on her 4th DUI ,she just got sentenced,and all she got was 90 days with huber.Plus from what I heard she is still driving even though her license is obviously revoked.I hate drunk drivers.

Wow is thats insane! Its a good thing that GP held together on the driver side enough to protect him as much as it did. I couldnt imagine what kinda ride that must have been like.

Thanks everyone... Latest news is the surgery went good. They had to put a chest tube in yesterday morning, and took it out this afternoon. He got up and took 2 steps today, so things are looking better. The doctors said he is not out of the woods yet, but things are looking better.

Yeah, after i think 10 surgerys to basicly rebuild him inside, he went home today. He is able to walk around, now he has a lot of therapy the regain strength and movement. Thanks everyone!
