Ya I heard there's going to be games where you don't even get the whole thing. You have to pay online to get the other half unlocked or sum shit.

Actually that card reader is mainly used for games that have a card option. Its also only used in the Japaneses market right now. With the ps3 you are able to purchase and download games and addons/expansions, hence how it also has the ability to read credit cards.

There was talk that Gran Turismo for the PS3 was going to make you buy the additional cars and tracks. You'd get a limited selection to start with, then you'd be forced to buy a car in order to upgrade. I think it was at the last big gaming convention where they said to get all the cars and tracks would cost someone between $800-1000.

I've heard they've backed off on that plan.

The only thing that would make me want a PS3 is a Gran Turismo game. It's why I bought the first 2 Playstations.

Yeah they scrapped that. Was going to be GT HD, now I believe they're just waiting until GT5 is done.
