I was getting my oil changed yesterday at Braeger when I started wandering around the showroom (thats how all my trouble starts, usually I end up buying something). I stumbled upon a beauty of a Trailblazer SS. Black on black. AWD. Fully loaded, even the Navigation/Touch Screen. Super nice lookin ride. Its how I would have ordered one had I gotten one for my mother instead of the Saturn. So I start talkin to my salesman. He's pitchin me on all these deals on it, tellin me how he could get so much knocked off the sticker for me, and then he dropped the bombshell. There is 0% financing for 48 months on ALL Trailblazers! Just thought I'd put this out there, incase someone might have wanted one... Because Braeger's got one fully loaded, and black seems to be a hot color for these. Anyone want more info or a salesman to talk to, let me know.

Who can afford a 48 month loan on a $38,000 truck though? That would be real close a thousand bucks a month! Thats a mortgage payment!

GM wont sell many cars only offering 0% for only 48 months. If they had o for 60... maybe it would be worthwhile... and if you had about 10G to throw down on it.

I didn't think it was blown, I thought it was basically the SUV form of the Silverado SS?

It's gets a 395 hp, 400 ft lb LS2 engine, 20 inch wheels, better suspension and brakes.

BAD LS1
01-23-2007, 10:39 AM
Its got alot of looks upgrades, suspension, 20" wheels, 390HP 6.0L LS2, AWD or 2WD, HD auto and rear end. They run in the area of low 14's to high 13s stock.

They are pretty sweet trucks, i weighed the option between that and my monte carlo... 10G less, 10 more mpg, and the same performance...

I still want one. Limited production. With very few mods they are easily low 13's high 12 vehicle.

the parts to mod these are like vette's... really pricey! It will need mods to run 12's.

we should get a big pool goin and buy a Z06. If each member throws in 20 bucks, I'm sure we could afford the monthly payments for a Z06.

I looked on GM's website and only trail blazers can get 0% financing the SS is not included in that sale..

88Nightmare
01-23-2007, 11:35 AM
damnit. salesman told me on his list of deals there was no notation indicating the SS was not included in that.

Ive put a converter in an AWD one that was pretty quick, and pounded the tar out of used 2WD from a dealers used car lot... Fun... but expensive in the monthly payment and at the pump.

Eh. My wife loves her TBSS. I keep flip flopping on mods for it though. The big reason we choose the TBSS over a Jeep SRT8 was the towing capacity of the TBSS (6500lbs). This is why I am not sure about mods yet for it, as we want to keep the high towing capacity fairly intact.

Ours is black with pretty much every option. It handles pretty well in the snow too, even with the 20 inchers.

My house payment is $855 before $200 in taxes. At least i can make money on it when i go to sell!

I could build a couple cars with all kinda mods and still be under that $800 red area:rolf

It's a nice looking truck, I'll give you that. But I don't think it would be my first pick for $800 a month.

i might have to run up there with my brother this week and take a look at it. he would be getting rid of an 05 Superduty. he wants a SUV cause it would be easier for the kid.

for 800 a month i could drive one hell of a nice diesel pickup

88Nightmare
01-23-2007, 02:36 PM
yeah keep in mind if you wanted a nicer vehicle for 800 a month, you will be paying more then 48 months, and you will end up paying more for the vehicle itself with interest. so lets see, 800 a month for 48 months, or at a 6% loan for 60 months at milwaukee county sales tax on the selling price of 40,000, you are looking at about 750 per month. so hmmm, 800 bucks a month for 48 months or 750 for 60 months?

BAD LS1

Your going to have one healthy monthly income plus a uber high credit rating to get the 0 for 48 in the first place. Less than 700 credit ratings need not apply for something like that.

Lol i want one too, have so for the past year... But i wont go and get upside down in one just to have one:rolf When i get married and have a dual income... My wife will drive one:goof

Sorry if i seem so upity on this topic and i dont mean anything personally... but it just cocks me off that people are fooled into thinking that deals like this are the best in the century.

Gotta admit... a domestic vehicle that is 40G's new that will be lucky to be worth 18g on trade in after a year or two while you still owe 30g is not a good way to go.

If im spending that kinda money, it will be on a fullsize pickup or a more high end foriegn car that i will be alot closer to getting me a wash on my loan in a couple years.

88Nightmare
01-23-2007, 03:36 PM
yeah, but personally, to me, this is something id buy and hang onto for awhile. or maybe even lease it incase I happen to not like it for whatever random reason.

Yet, so many of us waste thousands of dollars making modifications to our cars that often times at best do not change resale value, or at worst lower the value of the car:alcoholic

It is a niche vehicle, and so for those that fit that niche it is a good deal.

^ that is true. If i were to get a TB SS, I probably would leave it stock for a while, enjoy it for what it is, and maybe a few years down the road start tinkerin with it. I think out of the box, its a decent package. the "LT" SS ones with AWD have the heated leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter, radio buttons on the wheel, dual zone digital climate control, touch screen navigation, and I think a moonroof too. decent looking 20" wheels, nice stance, downright awesome looking front end.

I think my best bet would find one maybe 3 years down the road that was driven by some over-privellaged soccer mom who used it to drive to her book club meetings and barely saw winter because she probably has her 4wd yukon denali for winter.
