My girlfriend has a '06 scion TC.... i was wondering if it had preouts on the back of the radio for an amp, which would power a sub. She does have the "I-pod" ready stereo. i know most factory radios dont come with them.... but i thought there might be a chance if its "i-pod" ready and such.

i would have to look at one at work. but i believe they only have a plug in. meaning the powered subwoofer you can get factory plugs into the back of the radio

Nope, it's a "Pioneer" radio, but only has the audio Input... Unless they changed the radio in 06 vs 05, but I don't think there was any change.

No big deal, get a line-converter.

Definately get what you pay for with line converters, that particular one that I pointed you towards sounds fantastic. You also have to make sure that you have an amped signal, and not a pre-amp.

My example for that would be... taggin the wires behind the factory headunit of a Ford Explorer would be a very weak pre-amp signal because of the hidden factory amp hidden behind the right rear panel. You would have to get to the amped wiring coming out of that amp in order to have decent signal.

Usually shi11y sound from a line converter is due to weak signal :thumbsup

it was in a '01 mits mirage..... i tapped in right by the rear speakers... still sounded poopy.... i am very particular about the way my speakers/subs sound. i will take 10mins-2hours to fine tune a system:goof

so it looks like she will be without a sub for awhile seeings that she got the I-pod ready stereo and such for a reason... no need to upgrade!
