Progress is slow, as I am learning as I go. What a surprise, I put the valve covers on the wrong sides :rolf
Still debating on what color to paint the block / heads, it will be either gloss black to go with the power coat or kandy pink to go with the car.
Any body guys want to help me prep my firewall for paint? :headbang

That looks great pork...really, top notch job doing it on your own.
IMO, I've always preferred the engine painted the correct color for the year, etc...especially seeing as to how you've still got the correct engine in the caddy and all.
Can't wait to hear it run.

I normally do too, but this car will never see its factory condition again. Especially since the doors are welded on backwards now :rolf
I cant wait to hear it run either, hopefully it does :durr I am going to make my own headers for it, and there will be nothing restricting it all the way back :headbang So it will make some noise ( assuming I can get it to run ) haha

Looks great Pork. The cast color looks good on the engine. Sound like a cool ride. Like to see it when you roll it out.

POR makes a coating that makes it look like fresh cast metal but keeps it from rusting.

I used a spray on for my aluminum intake manifold...used it because AL easily discolors uncoated. Works fine.
Should be able to find it in most autozones, advanced auto's, NAPA's etc...

It looks a TON better.
Can I ask why you didnt replace/clean up some of the bolts?
Not bashing, just curious.

Duplicolor makes a cast color or silver engine spray paint. Come to think of it purple might be cool in a pink car.

My Intake is powder coated black, it looks great imo. I'm still leary of doing the block / heads though, I kinda want to color match with the car but I am still undecided

Totally slipped my mind while it was apart, and now that you mention it that is something I'm gonna have to go back and do. That doesn't look too good.
