I believe theres a couple thirdgens this year and a couple 4th gens.

Will be interesting to see what kind of market they will bring.

anyone that would pay 30k for on of those I think would be nutz. that auction has inflated car values so much. GTA's weren't all that rare either, maybe if it was one of the ann. turbo's it would be worth it.

in 87 they made just over 11,000 GTAs out of around 90,000 birds. So depending on options it could be fairly rare.

I think it will end up around 18k just cause it's at Barret Jackson.

Too bad it doesn't have the radio control on the steering wheel or was that later years? Has polished runners on it too, looks really clean. Should be interesting to what that goes for. :headbang

gorgeous car. I know it's a GTA thing, but those gold x-laces are so weird looking esp. when it didn't have the tan interior.

Amen brother! about that time. If we just hold onto our cars for say 10 years we will be set!:thumbsup

Damn, what would a TTA go for in the same condition? $75,000 - $100,000??
Do you guys think the Barret Jackson auction has any effect on sport cars being sold all over the country? Or is it just people with too much money that are too lazy to go find a nice GTA? Or maybe its just people getting caught up in the excitement of bidding. :confused

All of the above. You pay more for the atmosphere at Barret Jackson.

I will say this, theres some deals on the first couple days. Theres quite a few cars that could be bought under $30k and with maybe $10k more work into them would return double.

I think for 3rd gens the only cars that will get money are the low mileage cars, being it's pretty rare to find them now. It'll be a few years before the custom 3rd gens will be worth anything. Although this makes me wish I just restored mine instead of doing what I did. I could have spent less and got more in return I think.

It is very cool to see a low mileage original car, but thats just not what turns me on to cars. I want to be able to drive them. :headbang

What do you think that guy had to pay to put that car in the auction?

Sellers pay 8%, Buyers pay 10%, plus $500 to register as a bidder.

As for drivers, I think that's what people do with some of them. If I had a bunch of cash, and nothing new really did anything for me, why not pay new car price for a nice old car that is like brand new?
