I need some new speakers installed in the doors of my sti. I really don't feel like paying a buttload of money or have someone at bestbuy destroy my car. I think I may need custom rings or somthing to mount a aftermarket speaker in the door do to the depth.

I don't know that I'll have the time to do it, but if you feel like taking it on yourself here's a easy/semi-ghetto way of making spacer rings.

Take the speaker grill that comes with (usually between 3/8 and 1/2" thick) and dremel out the acual grill part of it, leaving you with a perfect spacer ring that you can place between the door and the speaker.

Here's the wiring schematic as well :)

LF Speaker +/- brown/white - green +,- radio harness
RF Speaker +/- red/yellow - white/black +,- radio harness
LR Speaker +/- white/red - red/black +,- radio harness
RR Speaker +/- blue/yellow - red/white +,- radio harness

Unless there is a factory amp in that car, which I don't believe there is due to the whole "saving weight" thing, the colors should be the same inside the door as well.

I am pretty sure Focal makes some slim fit speakers that fit right in the door.
