Well, I am getting laid-off Jan 18 (I will be subject to recall, but the odds of there being one are slim to none). So I am looking for a job. I am currently a MIG production welder in a very fast paced facility. I have over 6 yrs of MIG and TIG exp. with both heavy, and thin guage. I also have an extensive mechanical and fabricating background. I may even be interested in part-time, because I have the option of going to school for a two year degree, paid for by my current employer and the state, plus my unemployment payments would be extended to 2 yrs (since my job was lost to an out of state competitor), but with a $1100.00 a month mortgage, the $349.00 alone will not be enough. SO if you know of any openings around, let me know.

If you could get the name of the place that would be great. I was making around 22 an hour.....but you can never rely on the auto industry, and being UAW means nothing.

The mining industry is crazy right now. Try www.bucyrus.com or www.phmining.com I believe both are always hiring welders...

I might have a lead for you that could turn out well for you.

Call Bryan Metzenheim at Metz Performance- 262-251-3535. He runs a busy chassis shop, and I know he has a ton of work, and was looking for shop help. The fact that you are a welder might be a big plus. Not sure if he filled the opening he had just a few weeks ago, but give it a shot! Tell him Greg Angeli from Great Lakes Dragaway gave you the lead...

Good luck whatever happens, I hope you find work soon bro!
