I downloaded a trial of Zone Alarm Pro, is it worth the $40 price to buy it? It seems pretty decent, firewall, antivirus, and spyware all in one, and is some sort of Editor's Pick on CNet.com.

Any opinions? Thanks-Dan

I see its actually an Antivirus Monitor, just tells me if my antivirus is good or not.

I'm also looking at Norton Systemworks Premier 07, Ive always had Norton stuff in the past and have been pleased, but the new program is $100.

no idea but ive had zero problems with this one and it has saved me on numerous occasions. Scans every file that you download in the background so you dont even know its doing it.

I went with PC-illin this year and couldn't be happier with it. I'm on the net all the time and go to alot of dangerous sites and have yet to have a problem in the last year.

I use the McAfee also and like it. I have not had any problems either. Downloads the updates automatically and everything is organized nicely on one page. I have not used the Norton, so I can't comment on that one.

I've been using the free download of Zonealarm for about three years with out any trouble. Easy to use and you basically train it as you use it to allow or deny incoming or outgoing access to your computer.
Depending on who your internet provider is they may already provide a level of protection as well.:thumbsup

McAffee/Norton's are not port monitors like ZoneAlarm, you can't compare the two.

Like was stated before, ZoneAlarm is not an Antivirus program. It is really good at stopping all unwanted incoming/outgoing traffic, that is it's primary job, and it's better than anything out there for port monitoring.

If I had to pay for an Antivirus, I'd get AVG http://www.grisoft.com over McAffee/Norton's anyday.

It seems like most think the Linksys firewall, combined with Windows firewall, plus a good Anti-virus is more than enough...
