Well, yesterday I went to Holz and bought a used truck. It's an '04 Chevy Silverado "RST". The package includes Headers, high flow muffler (nice and loud), K&N CAI, lowered, full custom interior, Baer 4 piston brakes w/ crossdrilled and slotted rotors, 20" Foose wheels and best of all...it's a 5spd! I couldn't find any production numbers but there were probably only a couple hundred built! I was working at Holz when we got them in new and I'm finally able to afford it! I'd put up some better pics, but my cat chewed through the camera cord. :fire

Is that a lifted one? I think those are a lot more common than the 2wd models like mine.

BTW, whose the guy on here that does the tuning on these Silverados?

Is that the 5.3?

Hot trucks. I love them in the short bed style. Or is that what the one is in your pic? Maybe the picture is throwing me off.

No, it's only the 4.8, but she gets up and moves. 330hp, I think. Yeah, its a short bed regular cab.

BAD LS1

I tuned a red GMC version it moves pretty good. They have the intake and long tube headers right from regency.

But its a 4.8 w/ 5 speed

It would have been neat for them to do the same thing to a 5.3 auto.

I'd rather have the 5spd (not available w/ the 5.3 I believe) anyways. Sooo, how much for a tune? What's it add?

$100.

Corrects for the headers and intake which that Sierra i did was way out of whack.

But it all depends what gas your willing to run in it, I can give it a healty dose of timing which helps w/ low end and midrage torque and still be safe of 93 octane.

Can get rid of the 98mph speed limiter, raise the rev limiter to 6K etc...

Otherwise gains are marginal w/ 87 octane.

Hmmm, i'm gonna be drivin it 60 mi. per day, so gas prices are gonna kill me if I have to run premium, I'd rather stick with 87.

See this i don't understand. i have people here at the lot all the time looking at my high line imports that require 93. They shoot the idea down just for that saying "this is going to kill me in gas money". Do the math. On a 16 gallon tank it might cost you an extra $2 a fill up. Is that really that bad? Even if my car didnt require it, I would still use it. Not to mention with toms tune you will probably get better MPG anyway. Go for the full 93 tune IMO. It will only cost you an extra $2-$2.50 a fill up more anyways. Thats not bad at all.

Eh, we'll see, if it means better mileage, I'll probably do it.
