Milwaukee police early today arrested a man, 23, suspected in a hit-and-run crash that severely injured an 11-year-old girl at N. 14th and W. Center streets on Tuesday.

The suspect, who was not identified, was racing another car when he allegedly hit the girl, police said.

The arrest was made after police got a tip.

The girl, who suffered several broken bones and other injuries, remains hospitalized.
