View Full Version : all I want for christmas is a new front bumper...

yeah. I do. Because I got into a minor fender bender with my silverado. Tapped a chevy venture on my way home from work wednesday night. And by tapped, I mean maybe 10mph. The venture had zero damage, but somehow my truck has $1,007.73 in damage :confused

Anyway, I need a new chrome front bumper, body colored plastic cap, and lower plastic valance. Majority of the price is with parts. About $650 in parts. Too dark for pics tonight, I'll try to take some in the AM.

with those prices I would see if aftermarket has anything to offer.

I looked it up on GM parts direct, and prices seem to be inline. This is at the body shop at the dealership where my pops works. Thats the real estimate. My insurance is going to send them a check for the bill minus my $500 deductible. Typically I'd have to come up with $500 and pay the bodyshop, however I get an employee discount, so parts will be 10% over cost and labor prices cut down in almost half :D

I can't afford that at the moment, and the insurance company wont pay for that I dont think...

idk, the SS grill is a lil different then mine. I dont know if it would look right. plus the SS is typically black, mine is a much lighter color. dont know how that would look....

is there anyway to get the insurance to cover the repairs and possibly talk to my body man and see if he could slip an SS bumper into the estimate?

lol nope....some idiot at southridge hit me and didnt bother leaving a note or anything a couple years ago....I noticed it was dented half way down to texas.
