The guys at G&G Powersports in Muskego commented yesterday when I was there that they opened 12/1 as long as there was 6 inches on the ground. I just overheard the conversation though. Here's Waukesha County's trail hotline: 414-299-0330. I didn't call it so I have no clue if it's updated or ???....

I called the number. Trails are closed until Dec. 11, which is the first day after the Dec. deer hunt ends. If there is sufficient snow and conditions permit, they will open Dec. 11.

I was out rippin' up the trails yesterday morning in west bend (near sandy knoll park). i was able to hit about 10 miles of trails and ran out or markers. I checked the AWSC website for Washington county and this is what I found.
Trails in Washington County will not open this weekend even if we recieve a large snowfall. Not all trails are staked and there is no frost in the ground. Please stay off of all Washington County Snowmobile trails. Check other counties for open or closed trails.
Explains why I didnt see any other snowmobile tracks. Anyone in the West Bend area on here who snowmobiles??

Yeah, STAY OFF!!! Land owners get pissed at the Blair Morgan wannabe's that shouldn't be out on the unfrozen gorund, then shut the shit down for us who follow rules.

Agreed. As hard as it is to wait to get that first ride in, it is just common sense nowadays to call the hotlines first. That is why they are there. It does'nt take much for a trail to get shut down these days. When a trail is shut down, it is usually re-routed along a street or busy highway, and we all know it is no fun to ride on pavement. Unfortunately, it is the hard working club members that often get blamed for this when it is not their fault at all. The time will come soon for that first ride,,, lets hope for a good year down here!

I put about 35 miles on the sled sunday night. Waukesha Cty. Kettle moraine area was open after dark. Because of the hunting season during daylight. I was told as long as the sleds were on the trailer by dawn we would be ok. Saw a lot of other sleds on the trails. Trails were washboardy but rideable.

Dropped at Gillettes gas station in Eagle and took off ftom there north. This was the info the owner of the station gave me. He is big into snowmobiling as well.

i am wondering if racine county is like that(night riding)... because a group of us actually went out on the trails...

REASON #1: there were no signs saying we couldn't

REASON #2: trails were marked

REASON#3: A lot of people including us stopped at a local bar/pub to eat. the owner said there was no cops/dnr that stopped there or told them about the trails being closed

REASON #4: there was a sh!t ton of other people out there!

MY 2 cents:durr

The trails in kettle moraine/eagle area are OPEN as of Dec 1st. I'm going either Friday or Saturday to get some riding in!

I know you need a state park sticker to park in the lots!

Question call them at 262-594-6200

Trails will be shot by then. They are probably trashed now.
