When I was closing my laptop tonight to move it, and did not realize the end of my power cord that plugs into the computer was lying on the upper right side of keyboard.

Well I have 2 inches of my screen fvcked up on the right side.

So what do I do....

1- Send it in to Sony and have another screen put in?
How much do you think that will cost?
Computer is about 4 years old.

2-Get another screen and keyboard and just use compter for running things?

3-Buy another Laptop........I hate to have to transfer everything.

My buddy bought a new screen for his laptop and it was just shy of 500 so for that much money i'd just get a new one.

buy a new laptop and a crossover cable. The transfer should not take more than about 30-40 minutes via the cable if you got a lot of stuff on it!

I've done sync's between my laptop and desktop and it only took me about 25 minutes the first time through.

i replaced mine...i ordered it from www.screentekinc.com it was roughly 350 dollars. it shouldnt be hard to replace it...bunch of little screws but pretty straight forward.

check ebay for screens too.... I've done that in the past.
with some research you'll find many laptops share the same components.

4 Years old... What's the specs? If it's a bit outdated I'd check the prices of screens, but then also look into the cost of a new laptop.

If you need help replacing the screen, or transfering data, just tell me... :thumbsup
