My only hypothesis behind this is that he needs 6 stages to "ease" into a big over all shot (prolly like 500HP or better) to keep cyl pressure's tame, maintain traction, and keep the head gaskets in it.

Even 2 stages of a HUGE shot would be pretty violent. thing prolly feels like a turbo car as each one comes on at a time going down thetrack making a progressibe ramp up in power.
