I might be shipping my transmission out of state. How have you guys done it? And who have you used? How much and where'd you ship it to?

Shipped my old 347 down to Louisiana. Went through Overnite frieght which is now owned by UPS. We get a deal on UPS through work so that is why I used them. I used a wood crate we had here @ work and modified it a little.
It was around $120 and it got there in 3 days.

Roadway is what I've used, this might be obvious but make sure you crate it well (Hopefully Ron will hook you up) and have a engine hoist ready to get it into the truck.

I shipped my T-56 from South Carolina to Texas in one of those rubbermade containers from walmart. I put a few old blankets around it. DHL was just under $100 with insurance.

Chris,
The easiest way to ship the thing is to buy a couple of ratchet straps at Home Depot and strap the trans to a wood pallet. As long as its under 150lbs and it should be, UPS will take it as will DHL and maybe even fedex. I had a 200R4 built out in Cali for the GN and thats how they shipped it to me, so I'd assume they do it a lot. Hope that helps!

Thanks Gino....

did you have to pick it up at the UPS location then? They didn't deliver it to your house or anything. Do I drop it off at UPS then too? Guess I can't just do a UPS store drop, haha

Chris,
As long as its under 150lbs, they'll bring it right to your door! Also, you can drop it off at a UPS customer service location like the one on 124th and bluemound in Elm Grove.

Good Luck
