...the one in our 1999 Oldsmobile Silouhette which was acting odd apparently has decided it has had enough with life entirely. You can get it moving, but it slips badly.

Recommendations on a good, not too expensively priced repair shop that will deal with having to possibly replace the whole damned thing?

Thanks for the info Brad. Spoke to Shane over there and got a price on a rebuild. Sounds like they really go through the transmission and replace anything that is a potential weak point with a better part during the rebuild. Hopefully I can get the van on my trailer and over there this weekend.
