Besides the common E-places & shops like Speed Inc & etc, anyone aware of other places for LT1 rotating assemblies? Sorry no LSx for me:D . My rings are toast on the 146K mile stock bottom end (those at RA the other weekend saw some of it on the way out) so am looking at full rebuild and going 383 or 396 cu.

:chair:
it IS possible............if you could hook it. im not sure why you would need a stroker to do it though. the right convertor and a little shot will get it done.

Im curious what my car would run in current form with a proper tire & a few suspension changes :confused -
Already on it- AFR stage 3 heads, decent cam, fully built top half of motor, built tranny & custom stall and a crapload more throughout. Obviously the car isn't set up for straight line though.

Correction: 13's are the goal by most LT1 owners, 14s are reality (stock);)
Unless you have one of the rare freaks that go OK stock...

Even my "baby LS1" dubbed the LS4 runs mid 13's in a 3500 lb FWD car with mearly 325 CI and auto at that!:rolf

The car is already in the solid 12's on its crappy street tires.

The LT1's were only rated at 275hp but usually dyno'd in the 260's from what I've seen. When my motor was essentially bone stock it ran 14.2's all day long. The LS1's were definately a huge step forward.

sohave you done a leakdown to determine the rings are truely bad?

I done a leakdown or any other tests.
Symptom- as soon as the car starts oil starts rushing up the PCV tube from the passenger valve cover to the throttlebody. I have the WS6 airbox and the oil just streams straight out of the base of it and all over the motor & everything else. I changed the PCV valve and prob still persists. The motor also has a bit of 'roughness' its never had before. Everything I've read with my symptom points to the rings. Could it be something else? But at this point I'm considering the age of the motor and a rebuilt was not far off in the future for it anyways.

love how you always make your secondary car sound like some piece of slow shit that does nothing. yes because a 303+ HP car is somehow a weakling.

lol.

to do a stroker, you will need to spend money on a good crankshaft, the cheap ones take alot of mallory to balance correctly and the cost will wind up close. look into a dragonslayer crankshaft. if it were me,id throw a good set of rods and some je pistons in there and call it good. you will not pick up enough power to justify the costs of a stroker for what you are doing with the car at this point.

I had a 12 sec head/cam lt1 stock casting home ported...now it should go a little quicker.
