Buying a phone off ebay?

Well I'm tired of my pos phone and wanna get a razor. However I've got that new every two plan thru verizon and I'd have to pay full price for a new phone from verizon.

Has anyone ever bought a phone off ebay or a used phone? Kinda scared bout getting one that doesnt work or cant be programmed.

it works the same way as with ebay normally. read the ad, check the seller's rating. etc. i bought 2 phones off ebay, both were exactly what was stated in the auction.

I've bought 2 phones off of ebay and both were in excellent shape. Like Steve said, it's just like anything else on there. Good feedback history and a decent description with pictures and you should be fine.

I've got Verizon. Neither of the phones I bought were very fancy, though. One was a Motorola V275 and the other was an LG VX7000. Ringtones and games aren't an issue for me.

Personally I've gotten 2 phones off ebay and my wife has gotten 1. We have had great luck with them, I believe 2 were used and 1 was new. As stated above make sure you check their feedback and make a copy of the ad so if there are any flaws with the phone you have the orignal ad stating there the phone is in excellent condition.:thumbsup

I bought my Palm treo 650 (great for hooking up to the computer for file storage, no ringtones though) of of ebay a few months ago and the only thing you need to make sure you look for is that the phone they are selling is compatable with your phone provider (Sprint, US Cellular, etc.). Most sellers should put this in the ad, but make sure of that! I've also heard to avoid phones that have "unlocked" in the description because there is a chance its not compatable w/ your provider. :thumbsup

All the Verizon phones from the last few years can be hooked up via USB and go online free (if you have the web enabled plan), download/backup your pictures/address book/ringtones/games/videos/etc.

Sprint too I think.

i bought a nokia off ebay back in the day....everything went smooth even got some extra very cheap extra batteries off ebay.

i hate my razr too. and me and 3 of my friends the outside screen is jacked up. mine doesnt display correctly all the pixels went haywire and my friends are cracked badly..and one of them all his buttons quit lighting up. i think maybe its too thin and flexes in the pocket or something.
