So yesterday the tranny started slipping gears or not catching. I thought (hoped) it was just a fluke. Well, today it got worse. Freak'n figures. Right when you get caught up with your bills and plan on having some extra play money stupid shit like this happens. I got this Jeep so I wouldn't have car problems and would have something reliable to count on taking me anywhere I wanted to go. This will be the second time my Jeep is going to need work since I got it in April. WTF. I am so pissed right now.

Anyone have an extra tranny for a 98 Jeep GC witht he 5.9? If so hit me up. I am in dire need. :(

Must be that time of year, the tranny in our '99 Olds Silouhette start acting up this weekend as well.

yup, fluid is fine. Jeep makes a "whirring" sound when is first.

Didn't you just buy that thing like a week ago, or am I thinking of someone else on here? If you did just buy it, I feel sorry for you man!

I got it back in April. About 125K on it for miles.

What's the fluid smell like? It shouldn't smell burnt.

FWIW, a new casper reman isn't too terribly expensive...otherwise, pulling it yourself and rebuilding isn't the most impossible thing to do, and you might as well check the chain in the transfer case while you are at it.
