Right now we have cable, its ok considering what we pay. The biggest difference Ive noticed is that it has never gone out once. Dish you never know depending on how strong your signal is. We are planning on getting sattelite but the only its a pain in the ass here they want a $500 deposit if we want to get it, I mean we get the cash back but Im not sure Im willing to give them 500 because you never know they may "find" one reason or another to never give that money back.

Where ya movin to Mike?

I have DirecTV with their biggest package and HD DVR for like $110. 8 HBO's, 5 MAX, 5 SHO, etc. Their least expensive package is like $45 but I upgraded to get the movie channels and all the outdoor crap.

Than RR for another $29.

We recently switched from the Time Warner pig to the Dish Network. We were paying $70/month for TWC digital and dvr. With Dish we have the middle package, 2 tuners, 2 remotes and dvr for $40/month. We had a weak signal on a few channels during a monster 15 minute downpour last month, No big deal. Overall we have a much better picture now.:thumbsup

I have TWC and I was paying $91 for basic standard with road runner. I am going to be dropping my cable service because I decided there was nothing but crap on it and found my self not watching tv.

I've had all 3. Dish was by far the worst although direct tv also had its share of problems and both had virtually no customer service. Fawk satelite tv!:flipoff2: Yes it's cheaper but like most things, you get what you pay for.

Hate to add my 2 cents but..

I was an installer/tech for 2 years for DTV and the customer service issues are based on the pay and what kind of people it attracts (Yes, that includes me!) It was good money when you hit it right but sometimes you just had to cut corners to get things done.

I really think they all suck but it's a crap shoot as to what works.

By the way, I still have my equipment and am always willing to help anyone out with cabling issues when needed.

Just a dirty part of my life I try to forget.....

I've had Directv and roadrunner since I've bought the house. I've had no problems other than losing signal for a couple minutes during bad storms. Never had a snow problem, and it's never broke so I've never talked with the customer service other than to add the outdoor channel.
