well I lost my digi cam somewhere, which sucks because it was a sweet camera, but now I have an excuse to buy a video cam. what do you guys recommend for these? i never bought one before or even researched them. can digital video cameras take still photos or are they video only? what are some good ones? Are they able to just plug right into my computer to upload the video?

I had a Canon Digital Camcorder that took stills also (you needed a seperate memory card). It plugged into my PC with a Firewire cable but you could probably have used USB (slower) too.

I use an Everio MG40, hell of a camera in that it uses a hard disk, not video tape http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000A13YL6/${0}
