Most of you know Fred Cakanic aka Daytonapacecar959(blue pace car, big nascar fan-alan kulwicki, works for foster Pontiac, makes it to every pontiac show and will talk forever) anyways, he was shot in the chest resulting in the removal of a part of his lung) 2 nights ago in his backyard. Fred just got hired by a new shop as his prev job closed down, but has no income because of this senseless act of violence.

I help Lynda make the post about his accidents on couple of forums and made sure they were post on other forums. I have been watching this one in particular to see how much money you have collected. All's I can say is WOW. This just shows how many of you support Fred.

I spoke to his mom last night and she is in shock of how much money has been collected. The IL GP club is doing a raffle at their drag racing day and the precedes from the raffle are going to Fred. The MI GP club is asking everyone for donations on their dray racing day as well.

Hello everyone,just alittle update.I am feeling alittle better today,my left arm is still swallen and i don't have my voice back yet from the tubs being down my throat and losing 1/2 my left lung.The doctor was talking about me going home Sat. but i don't think that's going to happen.

Just an update,it looks like won't be leaving the hospital until Sunday or Monday.The reason why i'm having problems with my voice is my left vocal cord got damaged so i'm going to need another operation soon to fix that so my voice don't sound so raspy.

Damn man...that sucks. I had to stay in the hospital for 6 dyas with my wife when she had our baby. I cant imagine having to lay in bed that entire time. I was going nuts and I could leave whenever I wanted.

Hello to everyone this is Lynda Fred's mom.He was back in surgery at 3:30 this morning and in ICU untill 6pm tonight.They took a xray of the lung and there were 3 or 4 small pockets around it that could of been internaly bleeding again but it was all old blood and fluid NO NEW BLEEDING.He has two tubes going to the lung again one might come out Tuesday and everything else was pulled except one IV.I can't thank all of you enough for what you are doing for him i just sit here and cry when i read all the posts.You will never know how much you guys have helped him.Lynda

Hi everyone an update for you.I had a major set back Sunday night-Monday moring with some small clots and a big clot that didn't show up on the ct scan,so that was taken care of 3:30 Monday morning.It was just a set back, and RIGHT NOW i'm feeling as good as i did Sunday.It still might be another couple days,i had another ct scan and more chest x-rays this morning and just waiting for results,but i feel pretty good and i'm walking again and voise is gone again
If anyone wants to call or stop by please do,the nurses loved seeing that i had so many friends and you guys(gals)are the reason i'm alive.

Hello everybody just alittle updated.Yesterday Monday 23 i was real tired all bad and didn't want to do much.I walked very little and i didn't eat much and just wanted to lay in bed and sleep.So today i wake up to go get my daily X-ray and i was feeling preaty good.Come back from X-ray and breakfast was sitting waiting for me.I called my mom to see if she wanted to come up and walk with me,we took 3 laps on the floor(don't know how long it is).Came back to rest for awhile because i was alittle winded,was told should get better with more exersice.Get lunch and go for my afternoon walk 3 1/2 laps on the floor.Mom goes home for awhile to try and get on with some of her life and i take alittle nap.One of my Aunt's came to visit for awhile and had dinner.Went for the evening walk and made 3 laps around the floor,and went up and down a 1/2 flight of stairs:banana1:
I think i found a secret to the way i feel today.Everyday i was sitting up it the bed,today i've been sitting in a chair and i feel much better,i'm hoping for no more major setbacks and i can keep getting better.
I'm still going to be here a couple days,so i'm hoping some of you can stop by so i can thank you personally.
