For the UFC fans out there, remember tonight on Spike TV get your money back with a free fight. Watched the weigh in's last night and both Ortiz and Shamrock were pretty quiet. Was hoping to see some more of there wild outbursts, but instead it was constant plugging for Spike TV offering the free fight.

SO, tonight 7pm! Who's it going to be this time?

My vote is for Ortiz.

I won't be watching until about 8. I am hoping the main event will be after that time.

Nice that they are doing this on Spike instead of another pay per view.

Anyone watch "Quite Frankly" last night with Liddel and Hughes? Sounds like ALOT of fighters dont like Ortiz and his boisterous attitude. Hughes said that he wouldnt fight in a heavier weight class as long as Franklin is champ as they are friends and he wont fight friends. Pretty cool imo.

Eh...it went pretty much the exact way everybody though it would. Even though Tito is a better fighter...it would have been sweet to see Ken have the best fight of his life and beat tito before he retires. but we all knew that wasnt gonna happen.

I cant wait til Tito gets KTFO by Chuck.

Also...Franklin and Silva is this weekend. I think Franklin has finally found his match. Gonna be a great fight.

And then in november Hughes will lose his belt to GSP. ;)

BW3 in wawautosa across from the Mayfair mall. I had it on tonight but never got a chance to see it. When I finally came out front, I asked around and EVERYONE answered me. There were alot of people watching it tonight.
Oh an PHUCK GSP! Learn engrish mofo! I hope Hughes G/P's his face into the mat. Didnt Silva get knocked out HARD at his last fight btw?

I am kind of torn on this one. I like Hughes, but wouldn't mind seeing a good fight and possibly and end to his current reign. I think Ortiz has put in a ton of training and should do well against Liddell as long as its not a stand up fight. If he can ground and pound he will be alright, but otherwise if Chuck catches him with a right it could be over.

I think Franklin is in for a surprise this weekend, he's got some really tough competition with Silva.

Tito's famous stamina comes from 'training' with Jenna.
He probably broke more of a sweat during the 'celebration' than he did with Shamrock.

I really didnt find it classy after the fight when Ortiz was throwing the "bird" everywhere. IMO only a cocky piece of sh!t would do that, yes you won and you should be proud but that was completly unecessary and uncalled for.

yea but all the stuff he did after that was not needed but he did it anyways. he could have been more of an asshole and not said anything. but he was being good and apoligized for the bird.

Didnt Silva get knocked out HARD at his last fight btw?

No...he knocked out Chris Leben TWICE in the same fight. KO'd him in 49 seconds in the first round. That was his first fight in the UFC. He's easily one of the top strikers fighting today.

LAS VEGAS, June 28 – UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin has a new challenger to look out for, and his name is Anderson Silva.

Tonight, the world-class Brazilian bomber, who was making his long-awaited UFC debut, walked through the usually durable Chris Leben in a mere 49 seconds, stunning the crowd at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and announcing his arrival with a flourish – a loud one.

Immediately establishing his striking dominance, Silva pumped a couple of jabs in Leben’s face, and after a right hand by ‘The Crippler’ grazed the Brazilian and opened a small cut over his eye, ‘The Spider’ pounced with extreme prejudice, stunning Leben with a left kick and a three punch combination that put him down and apparently out.

Leben regained his senses as he hit the mat, but instead of looking to clear his head with a takedown or some movement, he immediately tried to trade with Silva and after getting hit with a right uppercut, a thudding right knee put Leben down again, with the follow-up barrage bringing in referee John McCarthy to halt the bout.

It was Leben’s first loss in six UFC fights.

Also....side note...IMO...Hughes is just as cocky as GSP. But you can be that cocky when you've had the title for that long.
I honstly think that GSP will win....epsecially if Hughes fights like he did in the first round in the Penn fight. The eye poke saved his ass.

I am surprised Hughes didn't level him for his comments last UFC. "Overall I wasn't really impressed with your performance, GSP!"

Hughes was ready to beat his ass after that.:chair:

You were impressed by matts last fight? I sure as hell wasn't..lol. As far as I'm concerned...he just spoke the truth. :thumbsup
If Matt thinks he can just stroll in there and win like he tried to do against Penn...he's gonna get hurt.

Sometimes being the champ can be a disadvantage. I'm sure it's hard after a while to get yourself pumped up for a fight.

Yes, Matt's game was not on par initially BUT he hung on hard for an arm bar and was able to go the distance. What good is it to look great for 2 rounds if you opponent is trained to go longer and can whoop on you then? Matt will have to bring his A game for GSP but if memory serves me right, GSP got phucked up already by Matt didnt he? Not to say that it would go down the same way but the pysche of a fighter is different once they get dominated....look at Luoisuessouoiusdo(spelling obviously). But I have a funny feeling after GSP's comments, Matt is going to be looking for a head trophy this time.

I like both Tito and Lidell but I think Chuck has only gotten better with every fight whereas Ortiz has gotten used to easy wins and may take it too lightly as in not be prepared for a hard hitter. There is a difference between being knocked down and being knocked out. Chuck's strikes hit like a full swing, the kind that makes you sick to your stomach afterwards....lol

I think I was thinking about Wanderlai Silva, so my bad on that one. AS, is a badmofo as well so it could go eitehr way. Imo, Franklin may not have the BJJ it would take for A Silva if it goes to the ground.

Yes...Matt won at UFC 50 at the VERY end of the first round (4:59 in to be exact..lol). He grabbed an arm bar at the last second. Up until that point it was a VERY even fight. Hughes even ate some good punches by GSP. It'll be a good fight...that's for sure. I think GSP is a much better fighter now though. A lot of people choke their first time to the big dance. He's got his out of the way now. Don't be surprised to see GSP as the new champ :)

when tito and ken hugged i was hoping to god that shamrock was just going to ******* punch him in the temple. but silva doesnt really deserve a title fight in the ufc. he has fought what once(against leben) and he gets a title fight? wtf? but i do really want to see him kick some ass

I wish he would have put him to sleep. Maybe that would have shut that big mouth of his. :thumbsup

Also...I liked seeing Matt Hamil fight....but IMO...he REALLY needs to pick his skill level up in order for him to be anything serious.
He's a great wrestler and very strong...but he kinda sucks in all other aspects.
If he'd concentrate hard on submissions...he'd dominate them instead of laying on them *trying* to ground and pound.
In all honesty...it's just a matter of time before somebody who has any sort of stand up skill puts his lights out. His boxing is still horrible..lol.
