I was down there, Was a great day! Definitely would like to see the Outlaws running the 1/4 though. I hate 1/8th mile, especially in those cars. The race is over so fast. It will be better next year after they expand. Some nice wheelies though, I couldnt believe the last competitor. I was sitting at the 200 ft mark on the south bleachers, and most guys were carrying the tires to the 150ish mark. Some obviosuly alot higher than others, but the very last run, I was walking out to the parking lot and stopped at the 450 ft mark to watch. I cant believe that he put the front tires down right in front of me! Thats insane! 450 FT!!!!, and about 400 of that was on the bumper! Definitley going next year. :headbang

I was there. It definitely wasn't as good as the last 2 years. They jacked the price up to $30 now. The event was running late and where I was standing the PA system was broke so I couldn't hear a single damn thing.

Brian Ambrosini's orange Gremlin only seemed to make 1 pass, that kind of sucked. Some of the other cars looked like they got 3 chances per round. Very poorly organized overall. I think Jason Schubert's purple/blue Oldsmobile (the one that flipped and won last year) also only made one pass! :(

Steve Blue's orange/white 68 camaro definitely had a monster wheelie there. 4 wheels off the ground, turned to another bumper dragger, before finally setting them down!!

Blown_Gtp: Yeah that's him.

blackhorse: For some reason Ambrosini only did 1 pass from what I remember. The winner made at least 3. His wheelie was longer and got more crowd reaction. I felt like Ambrosini got shortchanged by not running more than that, although after his first one his car was smoking quite a bit; perhaps he couldn't get it together for a 2nd run.

The gremlin only competed in the second round. Everyone had two chances in each round. Same with the winner of last year, I think he only competed in the second round. The winner of the year before last, the red firebird, competed in both rounds. His second round run almost had it, then the gremlin came out, and yes his car was smoking quite a bit, I am pretty sure he was unable to take another shot at it.

yeah and the gremlin leaked synthetic tranny fluid all over the left lane and ruined the rest of racing:fire and still took money for the highest wheelie stayed till 8:30 pm and nothing happened except for ambrocini whining
