Finally got my 4 cylinder honda done and on the track yesterday. Final race for Lake Geneva raceway with the midwest enduro stock car series. I completed 19 laps and then my honda blew up. I first thought it was a head gasket, but now it also appears it was close to throwing a rod. I was topping 7,500 rpms (seriously) down the straightaways. Im surprised it lasted as long as it did. I feel some 14" wheels and tires may have helped keep the rpms down a lil, but somethin tells me that car was doomed before it hit the tracks. This will be a good winter now for me to rebuild and get the car goin for a full season next year. Its a shame it blew up, I was in the top 5 or 10 before it died. I was really flyin. My right front tire was getting chewed up somethin fierce though, I doubt it would have withstood 100 laps.

i remember back in the day reading about some dork that scored an F series (non vtec SOHC 2.2) motor from an accord or prelude in the early 90s and put it in one of those bodies. the F isn't not too hard to find.

That's the F22A, came in the prelude S and base model accords. There's a lot of them out there.

here is an interesting problem. got straight water in the engine right now. I can yank the lower radiator hose and get the radiator empty, but what about the block? we are expecting sub freezing temps tomorrow. I understand the motor is blown but the block is probably salvagable.... how can I get the water out of there? Or should I not worry about it?
