WTF? why would you want to see your coolant flowing? besides that the pipe probably wouldn't hold up to well in winter with the constant temp changes.

If it is anything like the glass used in a chem or bio lab, it will definitely survive the "mild" temperature flux between warm coolant and cold air outside. Don't forget that the coolant warms gradually, think of your heater.

The clear tube is interesting and I am surprized that it did not show up much earlier.

That is allright, but I really want to see a glass valve cover or an all-glass engine block. It would be so cool to be able to see all of the internals of an engine working, especially the combustion.

Unfortunately, this would not work very well in the real world because glass isn't strong or resilient enough. BUT, it would be neat to build a small model for display operation. I'd probably run it of propane or methane because it is glass-friendly and won't cause the engine to grenade.

Right, the temps wouldn't be a problem, it's the flexing that would probably snap it.
On the coldest day of the year too im sure, so you'd have to lay on your back on the side of 112th & hampton to fix it with no tools because your brother isn't answering the phone at home... :mad:
