o.k. came across this offer, a kid has one of these that he is selling for 400....from what I was told it has timing issues (well from the way it was discribed) however they cant check the timing because the timing cover is missing, or some shit....so anyone know anything about these cars (it is turbo) and if I wereto buy it as a winter beater, what the hell would I be getting into?

You would be better off with ANY thing else for a winter beater. That is just a stright up all year beater.

That thing has a Cosworth engine it it and has some real performance potential.

XR4TI has the FORD 2.3 turbo, Not AWD, just RWD. not a cosworth engine, just a ford 2.3 turbo similar to a turbocoupe or SVO moostang. Seen a frw at road america that were hauling ass. i belive that they have an independent rear also. those timing covers on 2.3's break all the time. get one from a junkyard
