This guy has a opening bid of $3500 for a rusty 429 Ford engine!

It's a "nothing" Thunder-Jet engine worth around $200 in the real world but, he has it in this mind that is some ultra rare piece of Ford Racing history it seems!

The real funny part is he just revised it to a $3500 opening bid , when he first listed it it was $6500 opening bid!!!!!:rolf :rolf

I really wonder what he bought this thing for since he thinks it's so rare???

Yea, I always list my items on ebay with pictures like he posted with this ad?

A really want to buy a engine that is solid rust, laying in some backyard in the dirt next to a pushmower.......A picture says a 1000 words hey?????:rolf

I wonder if I should drive my 1966 428 4 speed Galaxie up to Al's salvage yard and see if they could toss it up on a pile of old Dodge minivans and Crown Vic taxis to use for my pictures for the ebay ad to sell the car?:alcoholic :alcoholic

"I hope you are just joking on the price. I just picked up a running one with 69,000 miles on it for $600. If it is a joke it is pretty funny :) That would be awsome if you got some dumbass who thought it was actually worth more than $100 to buy it."

I sent him a message. I didn't actually buy one, I guy I work with who restores 66-72 mustangs did. I called him up to ask what it was worth, thats when he told me he just bought one. His came with a trans too. :chair:

Yea, a 429 / 460 core engine are not that valueable......This rusty block and heads might be worth a couple hundred.....I have found complete running 460 engines with c-6 transmissions for $500 - 600...

They are getting a little harder to find as most of the cars and trucks they came in were gone a long time ago.....

The good thing is you can take a 460 block to 0.80 with no problems, some can go even bigger but, I would sonic test at that point.......

I wanted to keep my 460 big block standard bore and 4.300 stroke to make a 514 cid but, there was a taper at the bottom of the bore that would only clean up with a 0.30 overbore so I ended up with a 521 cid......
