Not really, my father is a conductor (it's only an engineer and a conductor on a train) and he told me once that with an average load of cars/cargo, you could set a glass (full to the brim with water) on the dash of the train, hit a car, and only spill a very small amount of water.....
In other words it's like you in a car hitting a bicycle; the weight difference is sooooo great it's an incredible miss-match. Which is what most people don't realize when dealing with trains, however, there are two things that you don't want to hit in a train.....
The first is a tanker truck filled with chemicals or gasoline, and second is a loaded cement truck.....one of those two will do something more than spill a little water...
