Who does home inspections?

My wife and I just signed our loan papers and our offer was accepted on our first home. We need to have an inspection done within ten days. Who knows of someone we can trust?

I can ask my father-in-law. He was a health inspector for the city of Milwaukee for 30yrs, and is the head inspector for the Northshore area right now.

I had a VERY thorough home inspector for my house. I will look him up when I get home and PM you his number. I was recommended him by a guy I worked with. Very good.

Expect to pay minimum 250-300 for a good one. Anything less from a certified inspector is a good deal.

I just had an inspection done yesterday on the house we bought in West Bend. The guy was great; very thorough, personable, professional. I walked through the house with him and he pointed out a few minor things I could/should do, and at the end he printed up the report and put it in a 3 ring binder with a maintenance manual. $275
