Waterpump?

Looks like my waterpumps leaking. I can't tell if it's coming from the part where it meets the block or from the seal. Is it comon for it to leak from the block? The cars only got 49k miles.

Also how hard is it to do one? Doesnt look to bad. Only tool I dont have is a torque wrench. :( Whats the tq specs on the pump bolts?

It's a 2 pass sequence, first to 11lbft, then do a second pass and tighten them to 22lbft. Most people use new gaskets, some don't. I did it for peace of mind. I've never heard of the water pump leaking.

Ya yer right. Looked at it today and its leaking from where the pump meets the block/timing cover on the drivers side. Luckily all I need is some new gaskets.

might as well stick a cam in there since you have it off....................:devil

Very common the the 5.3s in the trucks. Just put some new gaskets on. Spec on them is Gut'en'tight. Its easy all of i think 8 10mm bolts.
