Full run

"The car works great and we are just getting started the track wasn't there yesterday and had made 5 atemps and only got 2 full passes 8.02 & 7.96 both runs required pedling. my data showed that I ran at only 70% throddle most the 7.96 run and lifted 7.4 into it when I lost the head light cover. I am sure I would have gone a bottom .80s with the current tune and a good track. The car has more in it but for now we will just try to get her down the track and work through the bugs. I finally got the launch down now I have to keep my foot to floor hard to do when your scating around."

Those remote mount turbos are junk, they're slow to spool, the track times aren't there, you could get the same results with some crappy N/A motor with just heads and cam ............ or so I'm told!!

I'll make sure to keep this thread handy next time someone tells me what they think about remote mount turbos. Where did you quote the original post from?

That thing hustles pretty good! Hard to argue with a 7.96@ 170 though out of a "tailpipe turbo" lol Sounds like an Ebay gimmic hahah

But yes, that remote mount local T/A got owned by my cam only 6 speed car on street tires. So theres some more padding for the story.

Yeah it sucks that you have to use only the engine's 500 hp before the turbo really spools up...jeez what a waste of money :shades. Oh well, it's still faster than any car I will ever own...nice find

I can't get the links to work, but Horsepower TV did a rear mount twin turbo set-up on a 05 Vette, I caught the tail end of it yesterday, but it replays this morning, for anybody interested....

Yeah...I saw that. I believe it was a C5 vette With just the STS rear mount dual turbo system it made something like 343 whp.(IIRC) It's a $7k-8k kit though..and it doesnt even come with injectors or tuning.

The 343 was the baseline whp, it put out 537 after they installed the kit, which came with 42lb injectors, and the plug-in tuner computer programmer thing-a-ma-bob.

uh yea...it was 343 baseline :D

If you looks on the STS site though...they say injectors and tuning are not included.

Must be extra for those parts.

That's the "tuner kit" for people that like to do their own dyno tuning or that have more modifications to their cars. I am sure they have a regular bolt on "consumer" kit available.

Most companys do that Vortech, ProCharger...
